From emergency response to home safety checks, Wax VFD offers a full range of fire and rescue services — all powered by dedicated volunteers who live right here in Clarkson.

Fire Suppression & Response

Our trained volunteers respond to structure fires, vehicle accidents, and hazardous material incidents across Clarkson and surrounding Clark County areas — day or night.

Home Fire Safety Inspections

We'll walk through your home at no cost, check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, identify fire hazards, and help you build a family escape plan.

Community Fire Safety Education

From school presentations to senior living community workshops, we teach fire prevention, evacuation drills, and proper extinguisher use — free of charge.

Emergency Medical Response

Our certified volunteer EMTs provide first-response medical care while awaiting ambulance transport, ensuring faster help when every second counts.

Vehicle Accident Rescue

Roadway extrication, traffic control, and crash scene management on KY routes and local roads — our crew responds quickly with the right equipment.

False Alarm & Non-Emergency Calls

Wax Volunteer Fire Department has been a cornerstone of the Clarkson community since 1968. What started as a small group of neighbors banding together to protect rural homes has grown into a well-equipped, professionally trained department serving thousands of residents across Clark County.

Every one of our responders is a volunteer — teachers, farmers, mechanics, and retirees who answer the call because this community is their home, too. We don't do this for a paycheck. We do it because when someone calls 911, they deserve help that's fast, friendly, and fearless.
